Manage the local cache
hyp cache <subcommand> [args...]Use hyp cache --help to list cache operations:
hyp cache --helphyp cache status
hyp cache statusPrints dataset registration and cache freshness. It is read-only.
hyp cache statushyp cache refresh
hyp cache refresh [dataset]Forces refresh for one dataset or every registered dataset. It writes refreshed partitions to the local cache.
hyp cache refresh ai_gateway_messageshyp cache maintain
hyp cache maintain [dataset] [--dry-run] [--force] [--compact-only] [--expire-only]Runs legacy migration, snapshot expiration, compaction, and settlement work for
one dataset or all datasets. --dry-run writes nothing. --compact-only and
--expire-only limit the operation. Maintenance continues past partition
failures and returns 1 if any partition failed.
--force rewrites partitions that aren't due yet. It never rewrites one whose
table metadata can't supply the schema, partition spec, and sort order the
replacement must keep. That partition is left as it was, and its line ends:
FAILED: refusing to rewrite <generation>: <reason>, so the replacement could not keep the recorded schema, partition spec and sort order (compaction_metadata_unavailable); the walk continuedThe next run after the metadata is readable again rewrites it.
hyp cache maintain ai_gateway_messages --dry-runDowngrade warning: v1.28.0 and newer migrate ai_gateway_messages to a
date-partitioned layout. Maintenance reports it on that partition's line as
re-partitioned to the declared layout. Once a cache has been migrated, a
build older than v1.28.0 can't append to it and fails each append with:
cache-iceberg: partition field "session_id" is new - adding a partition field is spec evolution and requires an explicit migrationTo recover, go back to v1.28.0 or newer. Don't delete or rebuild the cache: that discards captured history the newer build still reads.
